Characteristics of the English Programme

Strong reading comprehension skills are fundamental not only for the study of English but also for accessing all other subjects in the school curriculum. Kumon English aims to improve students’ reading comprehension skills and nurture an interest in reading, which will enable them to read widely and with confidence.

The programme begins by enriching students’ vocabulary and teaching basic reading skills. Students go on to learn about sentence structure, paragraph building, summarisation and critical reading.
