Coming from a Chinese speaking background, Mun Fai’s determination has helped him excel in English. He received the top English award from his school, and attributes it to consistent hard work on Kumon worksheets.

Like any student, the learning journey was not always smooth sailing for Mun Fai. He shared with us there were times when he could not grasp the contents in the worksheets. For instance, he found critical evaluation of literature particularly difficult. However, with the never give up attitude, Mun Fai challenged the difficult contents by checking the dictionary and re-reading passages over and over again. With this will and perseverance, coupled with encouragement from his instructor and parents, Mun Fai eventually overcame all difficulties.

While he shines academically, Mun Fai strikes a good balance in other areas of his life. He loves to read and enjoys reading a wide range of books from fantasy stories to informational encyclopedias. An energetic boy, he is highly involved in school activities like the prefectorial board and kayaking team. He also does not hesitate to extend a helping hand whenever any classmates need assistance.

With such a big heart and a challenging spirit, Mun Fai is bound to overcome any challenge that comes his way in the future. In his words, “Once you try, you will be able to succeed.”
