Kumon is more than addition and subtraction

Joshua’s learning with Kumon has been a journey of discovery. Joshua’s parents enrolled Joshua with Kumon as the systematic learning approach could nurture Joshua to be independent, instil a strong foundation, and allow him to pursue his potential in Mathematics, as he demonstrated aptitude and interest in the subject.

In less than two years’ time, Joshua has completed the Mathematics programme covering topics for pre-university!

As Joshua progressed in his study with Kumon, he learnt to solve problems in the worksheets by first understanding the examples provided in the worksheets. Joshua’s confidence to try new things grew.

Joshua also showed strong analytical skill as he could solve more and more questions of the topics that were completely new to him. Joshua said “Sometimes, my parents referred to the solution books to try to guide me. But I often got answers to the problems faster than them. They thought that I guessed the answers and asked me to explain to them step by step.”

Now that Joshua has completed the Mathematics programme, Mathematics is easy for him and he enjoys lessons in school. What brings joy to Joshua is helping his friends with their school work.

Joshua would like to share his learning experience with others. “It really feels great to be a completer and I would like to encourage all of you not to give up. Kumon has maximised my potential as well as giving me the opportunity to learn high school mathematics by myself. Now I know there is so much more than just addition and subtraction.”
